You’ve probably seen stories on the TV news about a house full of cats or dogs that the owner couldn’t properly care for. The numbers can range in the dozens or even hundreds. These stories can make the headlines because of their absurdity.
Behavior of Hoarders
You may have thought that they were just being cruel to the animals. However, hoarding is a sign of mental illness
rather than intentional mistreatment of the pets. In fact, the person truly loves their animals and believes they can care for them.

The picture of a child holding a bunny is so cute, but it’s misleading. Children may squeal with delight over a baby chick; they don’t realize that those cute baby animals do not stay that way forever.
Many parents don’t anticipate how much work these adorable, cuddly pets often require. So the pet bunny or chick ends up being forgotten and either dying, going to a shelter, or becoming homeless.
People do not realize that bunnies do not make good pets for children.
The National Concierge Association's 2012 fundraiser and silent auction is Friday April 13th, 2012 and again this year, The fetch Foundation will be supported by these amazing people! Please come and join in the fun!
